Sales Engineer - Channel - Pre-Sales

The Opportunity:
As a fast-growing industry leader, we are seeking a seasoned and highly motivated and technically skilled Pre-Sales/Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will be the primary technical resource throughout the sales process. Core duties include proposing, designing, and presenting technical solutions that address a customer’s business and technical requirements including on-line demos, support at trade shows, and supporting channel partners.
In this role, you will work in close collaboration with the Ekahau field sales and channels team to deliver high impact business results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Talk Wi-Fi with other engineers: build and deliver custom presentations and demonstrations to customers and prospects by matching specific client business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Proactively and effectively identify customer needs by understanding the business issues and drivers behind specific requests.
- Possess the knowledge and expertise of Ekahau solutions.
- Work closely with Product Development and Marketing teams to stay current on all Ekahau product features and offerings.
- Provide input to Product teams on client needs and industry trends for product enhancements.
- Deliver technical and sales-oriented presentations to customer’s technical staff and senior management.
- Support Ekahau’s technology partner relationships with Cisco, HP/Aruba, Ruckus, Extreme and others.
- Be recognized as the technical point of contact and technology/market expert by customers and partners.
- Maintain high-level knowledge of competitive product lines, especially as it relates to technical strengths and weaknesses of the competitor's products.
- Provide continuous knowledge transfer to the sales force regarding technical aspects and benefits of Ekahau’s products and services.
- Participate in technical marketing: write blogs, white papers, and training material. ∙ Stay up to date with all the latest in Wi-Fi.
- Participate in industry trade shows, network with fellow Wi-Fi engineers.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong experience with the Wi-Fi technology, especially Wi-Fi network design and management is required.
- Significant professional experience in a sales engineering, technical account management or professional services role, focused on supporting sales to enterprise accounts and channel partners in the wireless/WiFi space.
- Travel up to 40% to client sites, partners, industry events and trade shows.
- Excellent communications skills for product demonstrations and presentations to customer (technical and non-technical) and reseller audiences. This role requires an ability to understand and articulate both the business benefits and technical advantages of the Ekahau solution.
- Strong written skills for RFP responses, proposals, pricing, and gathering technical requirements.
- Ability to understand and solve complex technical challenges.
- Self-motivated to follow customer questions to closure.
- Any industry certifications from Cisco, HP/Aruba, Ruckus, CWNP, Aerohive, Extreme a big plus.
- Any experience with the setup and maintenance of Wi-Fi infrastructure a big plus.

Compensation Range
Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The salary compensation for this role is $80,000/year up to $115,000/year. Individual pay within the compensation range for this business unit specific role is determined based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, education and training, as well as business and company performance.
